Halloween Safety Tips

No Tricks, Just Tips to Stay Safe This Year!

Halloween is a time for fun, costumes, and candy, but it's important to keep safety in mind. Here are some quick tips to ensure your family enjoys a safe and spooky holiday:

Pumpkin Carving: Let kids decorate pumpkins with markers or paint instead of carving. Adults should handle any sharp tools, and use battery-operated lights inside pumpkins instead of candles.

Costume Safety: Choose bright, flame-resistant costumes, and add reflective tape if trick-or-treating in the dark. Masks can limit vision, so opt for face paint instead. Make sure costumes fit well to avoid tripping. Non-prescription contact lenses should be avoided.

Trick-or-Treating: Accompany young children or ensure older kids go out in groups. Carry flashlights, set a curfew, and inspect all treats before eating. Avoid unsealed items or potential choking hazards for younger kids.

Home Safety: Clear your yard of tripping hazards, keep it well-lit, and secure pets to avoid any accidents with trick-or-treaters.

With these precautions, you can make Halloween a safe and fun night for all!
