Can I Carry at the fair?

The Texas State Fair kicks off at Fair Park in Dallas this Friday, the 24th. And with Constitutional Carry now in effect, I’m sure many people are wondering, can I carry at the fair?

Fortunately for us, the State Fair of Texas has answered already answered this question in the FAQ section of their website. According to the State Fair of Texas website, guests with a valid LTC may carry concealed. However, guests carrying concealed firearms are prohibited from doing so:

  • On any other premises where a high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place. This may include Cotton Bowl Stadium and the State Fair’s livestock facilities when interscholastic events are presented.
  • On the premises of a business that derives 51 percent or more of its income from the sale or service of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption.
  • While intoxicated

Permitless carry and open carry (even by a license holder) are prohibited on fairgrounds.

The State Fair of Texas is open daily from September 24th through October 17th, 2021. Remember to carry responsibly and have fun while visiting!
